Braces: Your companion for a radiant smile

For a long time, braces had a negative image due to visible metal wires, which discouraged working people in particular from having them corrected. But that has changed: Today, fixed and removable, visible and invisible braces are available that are suitable for children, adolescents and adults. These appliances move the teeth by applying light pressure and influence jaw growth and the muscles. The orthodontist decides which treatment is most successful depending on the type and severity of the misalignment.

Invisible braces

As invisible braces are made of transparent plastic, they are almost invisible and ensure optimum wearing comfort without metal wires and brackets. In cooperation with the market leader Invisalign, we offer our patients the highest quality.

Fixed visible braces

Fixed visible braces offer effective correction of misaligned teeth through the use of high-quality materials. It combines functionality with aesthetic design and offers excellent value for money.

An eye-catcher: ceramic brackets

Ceramic brackets are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also hygienic. They are suitable for almost all types of misaligned teeth and jaws and are particularly popular with adults and adolescents. If they are combined with white-coated arches, they are even more inconspicuous. Ceramic is easy to clean as bacteria do not adhere well to the smooth surface, which prevents tooth decay. In addition, ceramic brackets do not discolor like plastic brackets and are also suitable for allergy sufferers due to their good tolerance.

The removable braces for children

Removable braces are versatile: they create space for new teeth to grow in, close gaps or stretch the jaw. These braces consist of a plastic base and stainless steel wire retaining elements that rest against the teeth. The size of the brace can be adjusted manually using orthodontic screws.

Regular adjustments are necessary to achieve optimum results. The braces should be worn daily, especially at night for about 14 hours, as melatonin is released at night, which supports the effect of the braces.

Retainer

Securing Your Smile at the Cambridge Clinic

Lingual retainer

We use delicate, laboratory-made wires that are bonded to the inside of the teeth to prevent unwanted movement. This method neither impairs pronunciation nor does it increase the risk of caries with good oral hygiene.

Rescue Retainer

After treatment, our patients receive individual, removable retainers made of transparent plastic. Initially, we recommend wearing it every night, with the option of adjusting the frequency after consultation. If insertion difficulties or feelings of tension occur, this is often a sign that the retainer is loosening, and we recommend increasing use and making an appointment.

Orthodontics is a field of dentistry that deals with the correction of misaligned teeth and jaws. The goal is to improve the function and aesthetics of the teeth.

Orthodontic treatments are suitable for patients of all ages, from children to adults, who want to correct their tooth alignment and improve the functionality of their bite.

The duration of orthodontic treatment varies depending on the type and severity of the malocclusion. On average, treatment lasts between 18 months and 3 years.

There are different types of braces, including fixed braces (metal or ceramic brackets), removable braces, and invisible aligners like Spark Aligners.

Check-ups usually take place every 4 to 6 weeks to monitor the progress of treatment and make adjustments.

The costs for orthodontic treatment depend on the type of treatment, the duration, and the individual needs of the patient. A precise cost estimate can be given after an initial examination and consultation.
